Weapon weight in kg: Weight value of the weapon that applies to encumbrance. Anything above 0 means the shots may deviate from center by that many degrees regardless of skill, or condition.Īmmunition: Type of ammunition the weapon uses, and magazine capacity (shots per reload). 0 means the weapon can potentially fire perfectly straight, if weapon skill, and weapon condition are optimal. It refers to the accuracy of a ranged weapon. This is the Shot and Dispersion stats from the ModKit. (apsingle) (crosshair) (apburst) (apreload)Īction Point cost: The amount of Action Points used per single shot, aimed shot, burst, and per reload. For most handguns and rifles, that's a single bullet, but for shotguns it's a single shell (containing several small pellets).ĭistance: Damage radius (the blast radius of the explosion in units of measurement displayed in the ModKit), and firing range (or throw distance). This information are displayed in the ModKit editor ( Damage Max, Damage Min, and Fatality) and shows the damage caused by a single click of the mouse/trigger. I can pick up a sniper rifle and critical hit kill 6 people by shooting them in the head from halfway across the map, yet a melee guy has to charge into a group of gunmen and get shredded while he kills them all very slowly and constantly injects himself with super stims.(Minimum base damage) (Maximum base damage) (fatal)ĭamage: Minimum base damage, maximum base damage, and fatality chance. Even with 199 skill, you'll still be useless. Unarmed is completely impossible, since the best weapon is just a pair of brass knuckles, and your fists require 3 ap. Unarmed and melee are really poorly balanced in this game. The best melee build uses Unlucky Optimist and the chainsaw sword to deal massive critical hit damage while also having a huge amount of stealth. You'll never be able to afford that animal perk, since it requires you to buy a bunch of rifle perks first. You need the critical hit perk to even be viable, and you also would benefit from other perks, such as Think Like The Enemy, which will provide you with more defense the more health you're missing. It means your perk choices are highly limited and will be staggered out at certain levels. On the higher difficulties, you only get 1 point per level. The perk system also makes each perk cost 1 more point than the previous one, and your perks are tied to difficulty. Meanwhile, your enemies will have guns, long range rifles and automatic weapons and you'll be charging them with your knife, eating bullets the whole time. You could comfortably have 4 STR and put the points into a different stat entirely. It's pure stupidity and means that a melee fighter can actually have less STR than a gunman, because guns require a higher amount of STR to use them. And what's worse, this bonus NEVER SCALES and remains exactly the same for the entire run. So your shiv would go from 1-2 damage to 1-8 damage.Īll street fighter does is takes your +6 bonus and adds a +3. But it doesn't raise your minimum damage, it just adds to your potential damage. So if you have 11 strength, lets say that gives you +6 bonus damage. Forgive me if the numbers aren't perfectly correct, I'm not looking at the game right now. You know the bonus you get from strength that's added to your melee damage? Is a stealth melee build like this viable? What are the downsides?Įdit: I forgot to ask, what is the Sequence stat? Is that like Initiative in other D&D games, which helps in determining which character attacks first? Obviously though, I don't know when I can pick these perks, what they require, or how stealth works. Witcher - deal twice the damage to animals and monsters.įor stealth, I'd assume high dexterity / agility and the Ninjutsu perk - 25% chance not to be spotted. Weak spot knowledge - +10% to critical hit in close combat. Precise Jab - +50% chance to ignore an enemy's armor in melee combat.įirst Blood - the first melee hit is always critical. The Soviet Combat Knife especially has very good damage, and requires very low AP per swing.Īs far as perks go, there are 5 that seem extremely good for melee, that might push a melee build over the top in terms of damage output. I'm looking at the stats on some of the melee weapons and the perks. I've read several posts where people said melee wasn't very viable, especially for new players. Hi everyone! I just got the game and I've been reading through posts here.
